What is a Kangaroo Court?

You have likely stumbled on to this site by accident.  Maybe you landed here because some degenerate re-tweeted us (@RooCourtSTL) on Twitter. Or maybe because you are a law student and searched “STL court“. Or maybe you were on that same Google website that has become so famous looking for kangaroo information. And you landed here.
What is a Kangaroo Court and why is there STL at the end of this URL? What does this Kangaroo Court have to do with St. Louis sports? You can read “About Us” and get answers as to why we exist in the first place. But you are looking for more answers, especially since you are wasting your time reading this garbage in the first place and maybe
We are sorry.
Actually, we are not. Instead, let us say, you are welcome, especially since we started this paragraph off by being polite (you can look the definition of “polite” up here because it certainly will not appear on this website anywhere else.)
But what again, exactly, is a Kangaroo Court?  We will let the experts explain below.
From Wikipedia:
kangaroo court is a judicial tribunal or assembly that blatantly disregards recognized standards of law or justice, and often carries little or no official standing in the territory within which it resides. Merriam-Webster defines it as a “mock court in which the principles of law and justice are disregarded or perverted“. The term may also apply to a court held by a legitimate judicial authority who intentionally disregards the court’s legal or ethical obligations.
A kangaroo court is often held to give the appearance of a fair and just trial, even though the verdict has in reality already been decided before the trial has begun.
A kangaroo court is one not following established legal principles and procedures. Some groups off prisoners, for example, try their fellows and occasionally enforce arbitrary, cruel, and/or perverted punishments. In the West a comic show may be made of a kangaroo court, with “dudes” or others being tried for trivial or imaginary offenses. An authorized court may be called a kangaroo court if its procedures are highhanded, irresponsible, and of doubtful legality:.
Lynching was often preceded by trials in kangaroo courts.
A self-appointed tribunal that violates established legal procedure; also, dishonest orincompetent court of law. For example, The rebels set up kangaroo court andcondemned the prisoners to summary executionor that judge runs a kangaroo court—he tells rape victims they should have been more carefulThis expression is thought toliken the jumping ability of kangaroos to a court that jumps to conclusions on aninvalid basis.
After reading those definitions, we would like to assure you of a few things.
First, there will be no physical lynchings of any kind, although verbal lynchings will likely occur regularly, especially as it pertains to the St. Louis Rams offense, Ken Hitchcock’s line combinations and the incessant blaming of the manager of the BFIB for every minuscule detail.
Second, we are not perverts, at least not any more of a pervert than yourself.
Finally, we hope you enjoy this virtual kangaroo court of St. Louis sports where we plan to ignore emotions, challenge the status quo and provide you with a reading experience unlike any other when it comes to discussing the topics St. Louisans love so dearly, sports.
Enjoy!
